When hands are full, tired, or weakened in grip, opening the door can be difficult and even painful. Great Grips provides an effective solution that anyone can use instantly.
Great Grips offer two built-in levers on each side, allowing you to push their textured surfaces with just your fingers! Watch the video below to see the Great Grips in action. Extra molded hand grips on each side add another layer of assistance. Keyholes are left fully accessible, and are not covered by the doorknob covers.
In addition to being helpful for hands, Great Grips are also an added nightlight and safety feature due to their removable Glow-In-The-Dark inserts. Help loved ones locate an exit during an emergency or just to find the bathroom at night by placing a Great Grip on the door handles. With exposure to sunlight the grips will glow for up to six hours until removed.
Great Grips are even anti-bacterial, latex-free, insulating and eliminate static shock. They fit nearly anywhere for any decor or style. Great Grips can be stretched to 300% of their original size. They fit small interior household doorknobs to industrial high-traffic styles.
Are Great Grips difficult to install? No, but in some instances a strong-handed friend is certainly helpful for installation purposes, depending on your personal grip strength. Please view our installation video below.
Wet the Great Grip with water before installing on doorknob or handle by stetching to fit.
The ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Accessibility Guidelines 4.13.9 for Door Hardware states, "Handles, pulls, latches, locks, and other operating devices on accessible doors shall have a shape that is easy to grasp with one hand and does not require tight grasping, tight pinching, or twisting of the wrist to operate. Lever type devices are acceptable designs." This is commonly referred to as the "closed fist" test. In addition, the new ADA/ABA Standards for Accessible Design 404.2.7 cites that door hardware must be operable with a closed fist or loose grip. Great Grips are the quickest and least expensive product to retrofit round doorknobs to comply with these federal requirements.
