New and Improved Design
The Opus 360 CPAP mask and headgear was created as an improvement on Fisher & Paykel's original Opus CPAP mask and headgear. The new design includes better cushioning on the mask from with soft pads that add greater comfort. In order to keep the nasal pillows off the upper lip, the new silicone nasal pillows have been redesigned with a contour shape that is more anatomically correct. To help with assembling and using the CPAP frame, headgear, and nasal pillows, arrow have been added to the frame, as well as a new and improved fitting guide and fitting instructions.
Anatomically Shaped, Off-the-Lip Pillows
The Opus 360 uses soft and smooth feeling silicone nasal cushions that slide into place easily and keep the seal with the help of a frosted texture. One of the most common complaints with nasal cushion CPAP users is that the nasal pillows rest on the upper lip, making therapy uncomfortable. The Opus 360 is designed with a 45 degree angle that prevents the nasal cushion from resting on the upper lip and lightly sits in the opening of the nostrils. This design produces a tight seal without air leaks. For easy cleaning, the pillows can be easily removed from the mask frame.
Small and Lightweight Contoured Mask Frame
Because the mask frame takes up little space on the face, users can still wear glasses, watch television, or read during therapy. Weighing less than 2 ounces, the mask, combined with the small mask footprint, makes the CPAP user feel like they are wearing nothing at all. The mask frame contours naturally to the face, using a 3 dimensional support architecture, making the mask more comfortable and supportive.
Tube Anchoring System
Advanced tube anchoring system that enhances mask stability and allows the tube position to be selected. The tube position can be placed down low, to the side, or it can be placed into the headgear harness above the face. For the ultimate in freedom of movement, the CPAP tube can also be left unanchored.
Pivotal Ball and Socket Elbow
The CPAP tubing connects with the mask using a pivotal ball and socket elbow connection. This addition allows the CPAP user to move around without dragging on the CPAP tubing, which causes drag and eventually dislodgement of the mask.
Efficient Exhaust
An efficient exhaust vent allows for quiet operation and prevents air from blowing on sleeping partners.
Hidden Headgear Strap Release
To quickly and easily take the nasal mask on and off, a hidden quick release strap was included on the Opus 360 headgear's design. This new feature allows for one-step removal of the latex-free headgear, without needing to readjust straps each time.
