More Information

The Wrist Brace with BOA engineering by Exos integrates the simple functionality of a standard brace with seamless BOA closure technology. This revolutionary design is intended for carpal bone injuries such as lunate, pisiform, or triquetral fractures, scapholunate dislocations, triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) tears, radio-carpal ligament injuries, or minimally displaced or stable distal radius or distal styloid fractures. The uses go beyond what was previously listed and the brace may be used to control wrist motion for other injuries that require stabilization or compression.

The interwoven wires wrap around the brace and with the simple turn of a dial you can tighten or loosen the amount of compression your wrist is receiving. A clockwise turn will tighten the brace while a counter-clockwise rotation will loosen the hug of the brace.

This brace is antimicrobial treated, and should not get wet. If it is exposed to moisture then dry it as soon as possible. There are openings around the thumb and fingers that enable your range of motion without reducing the stability of your wrist.

Can I reheat alittle to fit better?
Answer: Reheating and adjustments should always be done by your medical professional to ensure proper healing and alignment to prevent further injury and patient liability.
I am interested in the above wrist brace. Will I need to wear a sling with this brace. I have a distral radius fracture in my wrist and currently in a temp plaster cast from the hospital.
Answer: As far as I can tell, you do not need a sling with this brace. However, I would recommend speaking to your medical care provider to make sure, as I imagine it would depend on the exact nature of your injury. If they give you the green light, I would highly recommend this brace!

The negative reviews of this brace are nitpicky. I read them before purchase and bought it anyway because I guessed as much. It is by far the best brace out there in adjustability and slim size. If you want a memory foam pillow around your wrist, get something else. If you want an exact formfitting brace that you can loosen for comfort, swim in, whatever, get this one.

Exos is horrible
Np padding to speak of, very uncomfortable, does not fit well... have to wear it as loose as possible because it irritates my wrist bone. Was told I coud remove it to shower, but this was a very bad idea because it was difficult to remove Expos without hurting my wrist and difficult to keep wrist immobile. Next I was told to wash Expos and arm without removing it by running water into top and then drying with hair dryer.... Tried this but it would not dry... had to temove Exos (which was painful).... and dry the inside with hair dryer. All in all, bad instructions, bad product.... prefer fiberglass cast.

Don't buy this
I was fitted with this brace after surgery for a broken wrist. The fit is not great, so it's often uncomfortable for my thumb and wrist bones. The mechanism to loosen and tighten is very frustrating, making it difficult to remove with opposite hand and often gets tangled when tightening. It smells horrible after sweating in it and even washing with soap doesn't help the sweat smell...and keep in mind it takes 10-12 hours to dry when washed unless you use a hairdryer to dry and then remold again - because getting it warm loses its molded shape. I do not recommend this brace! I much prefer a Velcro open close! Wish I had a different brace, but this is what my doctor gave me.

EvaLatin of wrist brace
Because it can be removed it is a great idea but the fitting was less than expected. When PA pushed on brace to mold to my arm she created ripples on inside of brace that are uncomfortable when tightened and caused bruising. I wonder if I CAN REHEAT TO REMOVE THE RIPPLES. I do feel protected though and enjoy the fact that it can be removed to bathe.

Painful
I was given one at a ortho office without measuring. It increased my pain and caused my thumb and fingers to become numb. I bought an OTC brace that was a big improvement and did away with it.

not comfortable
As a hand therapist I find that most of my patients wearing Exos braces really hate them. Too restrictive, uncomfortable and often clinically inappropriate positions of joints. Not custom made, so they dont fit the same on every person.

My son plays football, he says its better then his longs brace. He can hold the ball better, and it doesnt feel like a brace. His opponents think That hes wearing a glove, because of the length of the brace.
