The Single Patient Use Diskard Head Halter is an 'over the door' configuration of a cervical traction device to help relieve pain derived from neck root compression. It works by gently stretching the tightened neck muscles and soft tissue of the spine. A foam chinstrap with a soft flannel lining head halter rests under the chin and behind the ears with two cord loops that would be connected to a counterweight and suspended over the door using a pulley system (counterweight and pulley system not included). This device is for single patient use only to eliminate cross-contamination.

The Single Patient Use Diskard Head Halter helps to relieve cervical compression by comfortably fitting underneath the chin and behind the ears with a chin strap connected with cords to a traction device. The traction device, either an 'over the door' pulley weight system or a mechanical spinal decompression device, is connected to the head harness and gently pulls and stretches the soft tissue and tight neck muscles, opening up the space between the compressed vertebrae. By opening up the compressed vertebrae, it helps to relieve tension and pressure of the vertebrae structure, decompressing the discs, alleviating pain and allowing blood flow within the area to support healing.

Constructed with a foam chin strap lined with soft flannel, the head harness has two cord loops which provide an even decompression, and is easy to use. The universal size will fit most users, and to eliminate cross-contamination, this head halter is a single patient product. The head harness is used to treat degenerative disk disease as well as protruding or herniated discs, chronic cervical strains, cervical facet syndrome, osteoarthritis, and herniated nucleus pulposus, with or without radiculopathy.
