The Covaderm Plus V.A.D. dressing is a multi-layered dressing that provides protection, bacterial barrier, absorption, cushioning, and conformability. It also has an extra tape that is made from the same stretchable, conformable fabric tape as the dressing and is uniquely shaped to seal around the vascular access catheter extension. The four layers provide the following functions:
Layer 1 (against the skin)- Anon-adherent layer that will not stick to the skin, cath site, or catheter
Layer 2- An absorbent pad that will also cushion the site as well as keep sutures from breaking through the dressing
Layer 3- A transparent polyurethane film that provides a bacterial barrier
Layer 4- A stretchable, conformable, fabric tape to anchor the dressing in place

4 in. x 4 in. dressings have 2 in. x 2 in. absorbent pads; V-tape is 1 in. x 4 in.
6 in. x 6 in. dressings have 4 in. x 4 in. absorbent pads; V-tape is 1 in. x 6 in.
Recommended for use on central venous catheter sites, peripheral IV sites, midline catheters, or implanted ports.
