The latex-free Coban® Self Adherent Tape is a slightly elastic wrap with a variety of applications; it can be used as a primary dressing to protect the skin from braces and orthoses, to provide constant therapeutic compression that helps in reducing edema, and to securely hold splints, gel sheeting or elastomer molds in place. Unlike other primary dressings, this wrap is not sticky or tacky and won't leave residue on the skin; the material is only adherent to itself, making it convenient to use and infinitely resuable. Slight elasticity in the material allows users to stretch the wrap to conform to their contours and get the tight fit they need for compression therapy.

A variety of widths are available to suit the afflicted area, all of which come in rolls of 5 yards. To obtain compression, wrap the material in a spiral or figure 8 pattern; the wrap can be wound multiple times over itself for further compression, protection, or support.

Hirsuite patients will love you for it!
Discovered this incredible product when my phlebotomist began taking pheresis donations from me. For men like me with hairy arms, removing a standard adhesive bandage is agony compared to that little needle. Coban sticks only to itself, and quite well--it will survive a lot of elbow bending and remain in place. Whole or partial blood donors are more encouraged to donate when they know they wont have gunky adhesive residue and missing hair to contend with later, and patients having bloodwork done will also love how gentle and easily-removed it is. I ask for it by name, and WILL throw a fit if it isnt available so a practitioner will have it ordered and ready the next time I visit. Trust me--you and your patients will love this stuff!
