The Clarity HA40 Handset Amplifier is a small and portable device designed to enhance and amplify the audio quality of telephone conversations. It can amplify incoming calls up to forty decibels and features an adjustable volume control.
The amplifier also comes equipped with a tone selector and a boost button. The tone selector feature can be used to highlight specific frequencies to provide the best clarity possible while speaking. The boost button mutes the microphone in the handset when pressed, eliminating all background noise and feedback.
The HA40 Handset Amplifier is powered by a nine-volt battery which is included in the packaging. Battery life depends on how often the device is used and the amplification level set, with higher settings draining the battery more quickly. On average, the battery can last for four to six months, but in some cases, it may need replacement every 2 months.
A battery indicator light is also included that illuminates every time the handset is lifted. If the light fails to come on, it is a sign that the battery needs replacing. As the battery's life decreases, the voice quality of incoming calls may become intermittent, low in volume, or contain static.
It should be noted that the HA40 is not compatible with Trimline telephones or telephones with a dial pad in the handset. The device comes with a one-year warranty.
