The Swash 1400 includes all parts for a standard installation, including a 7/8" metal T-valve and chrome 90 degree elbow bidet hose.
How long does the seat stay heated?
You are in charge of when and how long the heat stays turned on. There are three temperature settings and the option to completely turn it off. Also, the Swash 1400 has an Eco Mode setting, which makes use of the heated seat function and it only turns on when the seat sensor is activated by the user when it's time to use the bidet.
How long does the wash last?
There are two buttons: REAR and FRONT on the wireless remote. Both activate a two (2) minute cycle of warm water. You can press the button for whichever wash you are using and it will start the cycle over. By pressing the STOP button, you can end the wash whenever you are done.
How long does the warm water last?
One of the most notable features of the Swash 1400 Bidet is that you are provided with an endless stream of warm water. This water is provided via the instant ceramic heating system.
Will the wands get in the way during use?
You never have to worry about the wands obstructing proper and effective use of the bidet. These wands remain inside the unit, except during the cleaning cycle. This design is extremely beneficial as it aids in avoiding contamination. As an additional bonus, the wands sanitize themselves, before and after use, with a high pressure stream of water. For this particular model, there is also the option for nozzle sterilization.
How much weight can the Swash handle?
There are two components to take into consideration in regards to weight limit: the Swash Lid and the seat. The Swash Lid can accommodate up to 270 pounds and the seat part can withstand 330 pounds. It's integral to comply with these standards to ensure your safety and the lifetime of your bidet.
Electricity and the Swash 1400
The Swash 1400 requires an electrical outlet, so prior to purchasing, make sure there is one within close proximity to where you are going to install your bidet. You are also going to need a GFI grounded outlet. An example of this would be an outlet or strip with an internal safety breaker. If you don't have an outlet near your toilet but plan on installing on, the best location for the outlet is going to be on the right side (facing the toilet) and underneath the tank. The power cord that is attached to be bidet is 3.5 feet long and runs from the right side, if you are facing the toilet.
It operates on the standard 120 volts AC. When the bidet is spraying water and heating, it consumes about 1200 Watts of electricity. When only the seat heating function is on but the spraying function is not, then the power consumed is only 60 Watts.
How to use the deodorizer
The deodorizer of the Swash 1400 functions through use of an activated charcoal filter. It's a fan and it obtains air from the toilet's bowl through the filter. It doesn't add any pungent or overwhelming fragrances. The deodorizer is essentially odorless due to the fact that it simply neutralizes the air in the bowl.
More about EcoMode
EcoMode is a pleasurable and Eco-friendly feature of Swash bidets. When activated, the EcoMode uses a seat sensor to sense when someone is sitting on the bidet and turns off after 10 minutes of it not being in use.
EcoMode Settings:
If temperature is set to Medium or High, it will drop to Low when not in use
If the temperature is set to Low or Off, then no change will occur
If EcoMode is turned off, the seat will be on Medium (Pink) or High (Red) Temperature, even when the seat is not in use
How often is maintenance required?
Cleaning your Swash 1400 Bidet is simple. All you need is a soft, damp cloth and a mild cleaning detergent. Harsh chemicals aren't necessary due to the germ-resistant plastic. If you need a more complete clean, this model features a quick release from the mounting bracket. Also, despite the self-cleaning feature of the wands, it's suggested to clean them on a monthly or as-needed basis to ensure your hygiene. It's recommended to wash the mesh filter, as well, which is removable and can be easily cleaned.
If your home uses the following types of water, then it is recommended to use an external bidet filter: hard, well, or softened. Bidet filters usually need to be changed every six months.
