Compare measurements to Spec Sheet. If the thigh is large, opt for a length that will cover the entire thigh. Remember that inflation will pull the Garment down an inch or two. With swelling mostly below the knee (calf & ankle), a shorter leg Garment may be used.
Short Cuts to Measuring:
- Measure full length of leg. (See #1)
- Measure any large or unusual circumference
- Find length on chart. Check circumferences to make sure your patient is smaller than measurements given.
Rule of thumb:
Small Leg for patient around 5 feet tall.
Large Leg for patient around 6 feet tall.
Medium Leg for most patients in between.
Bio Compression sells more medium legs than any other size. They will fit a wider range of patients.
