"If you are a postmenopausal woman or man aged 50 or older, and if you have recently broken a bone, you should talk to your doctor or healthcare provider about getting a bone density test if you have never had one. A bone density test will tell you if you have normal bone density, low bone density (also called osteopenia) or osteoporosis.
