How Does the Beagle Pediatric Compressor Nebulizer Work?
The Beagle Pediatric Compressor Nebulizer allows users to place a liquid medication in the cup of the nebulizer. The compressor, which is connected to the nebulizer with flexible tubing, generates a specific pressure and flow of air that drives the nebulizer. With this pressurized air, the compressor breaks down the liquid medicine into a very fine mist. This aerosol cloud mist propels out the nebulizer and is inhaled into the lungs where the medicine is readily absorbed.
How to Administer Treatment with Beagle Pediatric Compressor Nebulizer
An included pediatric aerosol mask can be used on young children to effectively deliver medication to the lungs. Breathing should be slow and deep while inhaling the medication mist, and all attempts should be made to have the child sit up straight and breathe in deep. Children should be directed to breathe in so deeply that the lungs feel like they are completely full of air. Have them hold their breath for 1 to 2 seconds and then slowly exhale through the nebulizer mouthpiece or mask. This allows for optimal absorption of the medication.
Treatment times can last anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes, depending on the amount of medication. When the medication is no longer in the nebulizer cup and the nebulizer has stopped producing mist, the treatment is complete. The compressor can then be turned off and cleaned according the the instructions guide.
