The AquaShield Watertight Cast and Bandage Protector is a latex-free, heavy-gauge polyurethane cover that was designed to protect casts, bandages, dressings, burns, prostheses, and other conditions required to remain dry during bathing, showering or even relaxing in the pool. This material is well known for its strength and elasticity that features a pre-formed opening that has the ability to be stretched to five times its original size then return to within 3% of the original dimension. Available in three sizes for a variety of limb protection purposes, the AquaShield Watertight Cast and Bandage Protector slides easily over your cast or bandage to create a comfortable watertight seal as to allow you the freedom to bathe or play in the water without worry. Single Piece Construction- made as a single piece with no strap, pump, ring, or diaphragm to be concerned about. The absence of folded excess material ensures a continuous watertight seal.

High-Performance Material- made of polyurethane which is a virtually indestructible material that is 40 to 50 times stronger than materials used by competitors. It will not tear when pulled over a fiberglass cast, and stretches easily to form a comfortable, non-constrictive seal.

Durable- the strength of the polyurethane construction it to be used again and again, and will even outlast a patients' convalescence.

Safety- rather than expose patients to the possibility of anaphylactic shock, we rely on the safety of latex-free polyurethane.

Non-Slip Sole- an added safety feature on the leg covers is the SkidSafe (tm) sole that provides incomparable traction on wet or slippery surfaces.

Easy to Use- slips over a cast or bandage without any drag or snag with arm models that have a mitten shape that offers better tactile feel and grip.

PICCGard Model- designed to protect PICC lines and mid-arm dressings that keep the hands free to allow for normal showering.

When and where is the AquaShield Cast and Bandage Protector used?
The AquaShield may be used in the shower, bath, pool or spa. It is used for fractures, sprains, foot, hand and knee surgery, PICC sites, lymphedema therapy and water therapy.

How do you make your AquaShield watertight?
1. If showering, slide the AquaShield over the cast by pulling on the corners. Make sure the seal is an inch or so above the cast and completely flat and smooth. This will keep your cast dry for a shower.
2. If you wish to bathe or swim, you must remove the excess air inside the AquaShield. As the AquaShield goes underwater, water pressure forces air inside to rise to the top.
3. Before the top goes underwater, pull the AquaShield away from the skin, releasing the entrapped air. (Water replaces escaping air; if there is no air escaping, no water will enter).
4. The result: a comfortable completely watertight AquaShield. You do not have to release every bit of air to ensure the watertight seal. (When releasing air, keep an inch or so of the AquaShield out of the water so no water can enter when the seal is stretched open.)

Sizing Information:
REGULAR - fits most adults.
SMALL - fits adults and children under 120 pounds.
PEDIATRIC - typically fits infants and toddlers up to three years of age.
