More Information

The Sensory Input Activity Panels from Southpaw Enterprises can be used individually or as a connected unit. The activity panels encourage children to explore sensory and motor skills through feeling, viewing and playing. Fun to play with, the pediatric motor activity center is enjoyable while also benefiting users with sensory integrating stimulus. When pieced together, each of the motor activity centers' roadways line up in order for the child to drive a car, which is included with each panel, across the entire set. This activity helps with upper body gross motor skills and tracking. The Activity Panels can be hung on a wall or placed on the floor.

Tactile Stimulation
By providing opportunities for exposure to different types of tactile stimulation, the Tactile Stimulation Panel helps those who are tactile sensitive or sensitive to touch. Therapists working with clients who have sensory processing disorders, such as Autism or ADHD, can use this panel with multiple textures to expose clients to a variety of different tactile stimulation experiences. This panel includes moveable gears, a pointy tactile ring, wooden and plastic animal shapes, plastic beads, mirrors, and foam letters. Three different types of rope handles, resistance tubing in various strengths, a stretchy web, and an abacus are also included.

Auditory Stimulation
By incorporating many different sounds into the Sound and Music Activity Panel, the nervous system is encouraged to process sounds, allowing the brain to better interpret frequencies. Music makers included on the Sound and Music Activity Panel include a sea-sound drum, tambourine, xylophone, desk bell, jingle bells, triangle, and mini talking button. Using sound as a valuable sensory integration therapy tool, the panel can be used in a way that helps develop and recover verbal skills. This panel is ideal for providing auditory stimulation to those with ADHD, autism, hearing impairments, and auditory processing disorders.

Visual Stimulation
Thought to be the most powerful of all senses, vision plays a large role in how people think and learn. Particularly helpful for use with children who have vision impairment or who are visually under-stimulated, this panel gives a visual boost that holds attention and encourages motivation. The Fiber Optic Activity Panel includes fiber optics, glow-in-the-dark stars and mini-mirrors to hold the gaze and help develop ocular motor control, depth perception, and eye-hand coordination.
