The 30 Degree Bed Bolster System with Slide Sheet provides optimum coccyx off loading positioning facilitation for side lying residents. When one or both of the bed rails are lowered, the bolster system also helps prevent residents from rolling off the bed. Standard wedges tend to migrate when residents lean against them, but the 30 Degree Bed Bolster System with Slide Sheet features an inter-locking system (wedge and transfer sheet) that prevents the wedge from moving. The system also prevents entrapment between the bed and mattress.
Easy to Use
When the transfer pad is placed over the wedge, two Velcro strips connect and the wedge remains in place as pressure is applied. Both the bolsters and sheets can be used as components without incorporating the components into the system.
Slider Sheets
Slider Sheets, which fit low air loss mattresses, are available in your choice of nylon or mesh fabrics. For stabilization, Slider Sheets connect with bolsters. The nylon sheet offers low friction characteristics that allow for easy sliding. Mesh sheets can be used above a low air loss mattress.
Bolsters
Choose from 3 different lengths of bolsters. To accommodate a wide range of body sizes and shapes, two different lengths of wedges are available. Each system can be set-up with one to four bolsters, and all bolsters are covered in an easy wipe clean LSII cover. Additional wedges can be added to utilize with the transfer sheet.
Application
Patient Positioning: Place one or two bolsters on the bed with the Velcro facing towards the outside and the black non-skid surface in contact with the bed. These bolsters should be placed near the outside edge of the bed to assure that they don't extend beyond the edge. Next, place either transfer sheet over one or two bolster with the Velcro on the sheet facing downward. Assure that the Velcro side of the sheet makes secure contact with the bolster.
Patient Transfer: One Bolster
Lower the bed rail on the opposite side of the bed (from where the wedge is placed) and release the Velcro between the transfer sheet and bolster. Them slide the sheet over the bed while holding the light-beige webbing. These sheets were designed for sliding or transferring residents and not for patient lifting. If transfer/lifting sheets are required, refer to models 556142 and 556143.
Patient Transfer: Two Bolsters
First remove the bolster closest to the direction that the patient is being transferred. Next follow direction above for one bolster.
Caution:
1. Before each use check the transfer sheets for rips or tears. If a rip is noticed, discard the item.
2. Do not use the transfer sheets for lifting and only use for sliding, positioning or transferring residents.
Easy Care
The mesh and nylon slider sheets can be laundered at temperatures below 82 degrees C, 180 degrees F. The foam wedges can be wiped clean using a damp cloth.
