Designed specifically for exercise, physiotherapy, and athletic performance, the Pflexx Compression Knee Brace is a unique tool that not only provides the standard benefits of compression, it improves performance and decreases recovery time.
The Pflexx knee support sleeve goes above and beyond the performance of generic compression sleeves to offer great support, improved muscle activation, and shorter muscle recovery. It uses biomechanical resistance on either side of the joint, which works against natural movement to strengthen the surrounding muscle groups and better support the body.
The Pflexx was developed based on patented bio-mechanical resistance technology, and has been proven by numerous university testings to increase muscle activation for better performance, but that’s not all it does!
Pflexx Sports braces also incorporate patented Kinetic Kompression textiles and ThermoCool fibre technology to provide a brace that increases muscle activation, stimulates circulation, decreases recovery time, and improves muscle stability, while the unique smart fibre cross-sections help regulate body temperature to keep you feeling just right.
Pflexx was created in 2011 in County Down, Northern Ireland by Les Pape, an avid golf player who was forced to stop when a knee injury left him unable to play.
His road to recovery was predicted to be long and difficult, and his dreams for full fitness seemed far out of reach. That’s when the idea for Pflexx Sports came to him.
Pape began to invest time into solutions specifically designed to speed up the rehabilitation process and help people get back on their feet. In order to achieve this, Pape invited top experts to begin developing the necessary technology.
A number of teams of analysts, researchers, and academics specializing in biomechanical engineering and sports science from Northumbria University and Newcastle University carried out numerous research projects, feasibility studies, and field trials.
Physiologists began working closely with County Cricket Rugby League, Athletic Clubs, and many other people in sports and athletics to put their initial creation, the Knee Phlexx, to the test.
The analysis proved that this new device exponentially increased the use of under-developed muscles around the knee up to 30% when walking and up to 400% when running, helping strengthen those muscles, while innovative compression technology helps improve fluid movement and blood flow to speed healing.
"After a grave injury, my knee suffered a lot of damage, including tearing my ACL and damaging my meniscus and MCL. I started to rehabilitate my knee with the PFLEXX Knee by riding my bike. I've noticed that my muscles have gotten stronger and more toned in a faster process, significantly reducing the recovery time!"
"After my operation, I began rehabilitating my knee through cycling, cross-trainers, and step machines. With the PFLEXX Knee, my knee is supported and feels significantly stronger during and after these workouts. I also enjoy that its sleeve-like build is comfortable, making me forget it is even on!"
"The PFlexx knee exerciser has huge potential for rehabilitation, prehabilitation and simply improved performance as it increases activation within the often overlooked posterior chain of muscles."
While generic knee compression braces just focus on providing support and stability, the Pflexx includes built-in resistance, not only supporting the knee, but also strengthening and building up the surrounding muscle groups.
