Susie DiGiovanna grew up in Southern California. From a very young age, Susie felt a connection to her grandparents and older adults in general and loved spending time with them. After working in sales and service jobs, she decided to pursue her passion for serving the older adult population and earned her Bachelor’s degree. Shortly thereafter, the Mighty Ducks film came out and created a hockey craze. A close friend opened a hockey center and asked Susie to assist him as the Operations Director. It was fun and a great place for her kids to hang out after school, but alas, there were very few seniors there! After seven years, she was thrilled to obtain a job working in a large, active senior center as a program coordinator.
Susie then earned her Master’s degree and was promoted to social services supervisor. Over the years she has provided support services and case management to thousands of seniors. Working for a local municipality has provided opportunities to create programs that deliver support, provide a safety net when seniors become frail, and design exciting recreational events.
In her free time, Susie enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren and making holidays and birthdays special for them. Hobbies include gardening, girls’ trips, baking, singing, and making videos for social media.
