Digital scales are primarily designed for the commercial trade of charging customers for laundry service. Inclusive of an A/C adapter and often a rechargeable battery, a digital scale can provide multiple price readouts at the same time thereby allowing for a quicker and more precise weight reading.
An analog laundry scale is a mechanical dial scale with usually a 40 pound weight capacity. An analog scale is often used by a non-trade business, such as restaurants or medical facilities. An analog scale does not run on electricity so it does not require power to operate it, and since it doesn’t need an electrical outlet, this type of scale can be placed anywhere without the fear of water-electricity accidents or a specific placement near a power source.
Some laundry scales are placed on the table top where an employee will have to transport the wet or dry laundry to the basket scale for the laundry to be weighed. Other laundry basket scales are mobile with a wheeled base and an attachable large tub. The mobile scale can be wheeled next to a commercial size washing machine and have the laundry weighed immediately.
