The ArjoHuntleigh Minuet 2 Pro-Contour Mobile Adjustable Bed is an innovative, multi-positional bed from ArjoHuntleigh designed for optimal comfort and functionality. Four separate sections allow for three angles of positional adjustment, all at the touch of a button to eliminate the need for heavy lifting from the caregiver. Patients can recline in a near-infinite range of positions to suit their comfort levels and medical needs. The low-height frame allows patients to more easily transition onto and off of their mattress with a reduced fall and injury risk. Pro-Contour Advance Profiling lowers the pivot point of the backrest and upper leg sections to make position changes more natural and less compressive on the patient's abdomen, as well as offering better postural support once transitions are complete. The intelligent profiling system also keeps the joint between the upper and lower leg sections raised until the backrest has lowered to the same angle, at which point both the backrest and knee break will lower at the same rate and reach a completely flat position together. This simultaneous transition is more comfortable and ergonomically correct for the patient and helps reduce any sliding down the bed when returning to a lying-down position; it can also reduce shear and the potential for pressure ulcers.
To accommodate taller patients, the Minuet 2 features a mattress platform extension integrated into the head-end of the frame. In minutes, caregivers can easily activate or deactivate this extension of 130 mm (or approximately 5 inches) to ensure patients of all heights are comfortable and fully supported. A battery back-up ensures the bed is functional even in the event of a power outage. The entire frame easily disassembles into four parts, allowing for installation in rooms that might otherwise be inaccessible; it is also equipped with four safe-locking casters so the bed and the patient can be comfortably and easily transported around the room or facility as needed.
